Cyanotype for Textile Artists

2 - 3 days

Learn the fundamentals of Cyanotype, a photographic process invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. Also known as Blueprint, this process works well as a method of directly creating well-defined images on natural fabrics using plants, found objects or digital negatives. The process and chemicals used are safe to handle and images can be successfully produced in a basic studio environment. The resultant images are lightfast, archival and washable with care. The medium is better suited to art pieces than wearables due to Ph sensitivity.
